Let me start by saying that I have avoided all facial oils because of my oily skin. Why would I add more oil to my face? It just didn’t make sense to me. But since it has been an especially cold dry winter in Toronto, I have been dealing with patches of dry skin that no moisturizer has been able to combat. So I decided to give the Josie Maran Argan Oil a try. I picked up the Light version at my local Sephora after a consultation with one of the staff. I was advised that because of my oily skin I should try the Light version & was promised I would love it. Skeptically, I purchased the 15 mL bottle for $18 CAD (the 50 mL retails for $58 CAD). I started by using it nightly on my dry patches – nose & around the mouth & was surprised at how it absorbed nicely into the skin. It isn’t scented – you can smell what I imagine is the argan but it’s so light you don’t even notice. After about three applications my skin was back to its normal moist self. I have started using it on my lips, cuticles, ends of my hair & I love mixing it into my hand & body moisturizer at bedtime. It really is a multi use product. The small bottle lasted two months with daily night time use of about five drops. I have since purchased the larger size bottle & transferred some into the smaller bottle as its easier to use.
Since I enjoyed the Argan Oil I decided to try another product from the line. The Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil is another multi use product (65 mL for $34 CAD). I purchased it to use on my lips but am also using it on my hands, elbows & anywhere I feel I need an “intensive” moisturizer.
It has a thick ,rich consistency so I like using it at night time. It has a light citrus scent which I enjoy & has an illuminating finish. I haven’t used it on my face as I think it would be too rich – besides, I’m happy using the oil on my face. It is petroleum, paraben, gluten & cruelty free. I carry it in my purse as it has become my go to lip moisturizer. I even had hubby give it a try when he was complaining his lips were dry & he loved it! After a month ofuse I have barely made a dent in the tube so I can see it lasting a long time – considering its main use for me is as a lip moisturizer.
I think my next purchase will be the Argan Lip Treatment. Have you tried any products fro the line? What are your thoughts?
