THINGS I WANT TO DO FOR MYSELF

The end of summer & beginning of a new school year always makes me feel like its a time to start fresh & look at my life. I haven’t been in school for a number of years but I still associate the school year with a new year in general. I don’t make resolutions for January 1st but rather for September 1st. So here are some things I’d like to do or focus on….

  • Exercise: I took a yoga class over the spring & I loved it. I found it was a great way to have “me” time & focus on myself while getting a little bit of exercise. I’ve also started walking/jogging a few nights a week when I can. I only do it for about 10 minutes but I feel so much better afterwards. It helps me clear my head & I feel that I have more energy.
  • Stress less: I’m sure this would make everyone’s list but its something that is easier said than done. I have gotten better over the years but I need to get even better. I can’t control everything – even though I try – so I need to relax & know that I am doing the best I can & that’s what is important.
  • Eat healthier: I go through periods where I’m eating fruit & veggies, drinking enough water & eating the right foods but then I also go through periods where I’m not doing so well. I need to be more consistent.
  • Enjoy the little things: I’m guilty of getting caught up in my day to day life & getting stuck in a rut. There’s always something to do & I need to take time each day to enjoy something little. Maybe it’s taking a walk & having some ice cream or snuggling up with my cat.

I could probably go on for awhile but I figured I’d focus on a handful of things that are most important.
