Last year at this time I purchased the Tarte Off the Cuff Blush Palette from the 2013 Holiday Collection – after scouring the internet & a few Sephora stores. I had heard such great things about it & I had to try it for myself. I wasn’t disappointed. The blushes are excellent quality, highly pigmented & long lasting. I’m still in love with it & use it consistently.

So when Tarte released this year’s Holiday Collection “Sweet Dreams” with the Pin Up Girl Blush Palette, I knew I had to have it. I believe it is exclusive to Sephora as I can’t find it on Tarte’s website or anywhere else except Ebay. I waited until the Sephora VIB Sale as the palette retails for $50 CDN & 20% off does make a difference. It was sold out online but I did find it at a local Sephora.

The palette itself is a “Parisian” inspired clutch which while attractive makes the palette bulkier & heavier than it needs to be. I much prefer last year’s packaging which weighs about half as much. It contains 5 brand new shades – the palette itself is limited edition so I don’t know if any of the blushes will be available on their own at some point. Each blush is 0.158 oz which is a good size – a full size blush is 0.20 oz. There are 2 hair pins included which I should get some use out of.

The shades are Breathless (matte pinky beige), Embraced (plummy rose with shimmer), Whimsy (matte light pink), Bashful (rosy peach with a slight sheen) & Irreplaceable (matte mauve rose).

My favourite shades are Bashful & Irreplaceable. I find Breathless a bit too light for my skin tone right now but I still have a bit of colour from a recent vacation so it may show up better once my tan has completely faded. All of the blushes are soft, silky & blend well although I did find that Whimsy was a bit powdery.

Overall I’m happy with the palette & I think it makes a great gift. Have your tried anything from Tarte’s Sweet Dreams Collection?
